BBQ and Picnic

A wonderful feature of the Charles Holm Park is boiling water on tap! The urn is behind a child safe gate to keep little hands safe. Nothing like a boiling cuppa while watching the kids have fun! BBQs and food preparation areas are also available.

There are 2 large covered picnic tables, plenty of shade for a traditional blanket on the ground picnic as well as more shaded tables near the swimming area (300m walk).

Entertainment

Play Equipment

Shaded play equipment is always a win for me! There is plenty to choose from including a great captains deck with steering wheel and binoculars. My toddler did required assistance at times to clear the gap between the sand and the first step to climb up to the slide.

Warning if visiting with small children – the area between the play equipment and beach is not fenced with a small drop of about 1-2 meters from the grass to the sand.

Swimming

The swimming beach is a 300m walk from the BBQs and play equipment. A picnic table and trees with lots of shade is set up near the swimming area. The walk is pleasant with a shaded path which would suit children on bikes or scooters. Watch out for a small drop beside the foot path to the edge of the water.

Charles Holm Park is set up for water sports with a boat ramp and easy access to the ramp from the parking lot. The beach along the picnic and play equipment areas is set up for fishing, playing in the sand or watching the water sports. No swimming is permitted in this area. See the swimming section for further details on the swimming beach, a 300m walk away.

Why with this park being show cased as a park for disabled people and disabled facilities, why then has’nt this park got a jetty near the boat ramp to allow disabled people to be boarded and disembarked from a boat. The only boat ramps with disabled access on the gold coast are the spit ,currumbin and tullabugera, there is nothing on the north side. Maybe this could be taken into consideration.

Hi John, thank you for your valuable feedback. We will remove the All Abilities Access, but keep the All Abilities Toilet. We appreciate your support in maintaining a high quality of information on Gold Coast Kids.

Hi, is anybody able to provide information about concrete boat-ramps on the Gold Coast especially around the southern end of the Coast?
    Thanks
