Surfers Paradise Festival

The Surfers Paradise Festival, a huge celebration of Gold Coast arts, music, culture and food runs for most of April. Beginning with the Street Parade on Wednesday 2 April, the festival showcases emerging local talent, as well as a variety of national and international talents. With a great variety of events, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

We have put together a list of the exciting events that you can attend with your children around Surfers Paradise for free!

Street Parade

‘See the Gold Coast gather to celebrate the coming of the Surfers Paradise Festival for 2014 with an Electric themed Street Parade peopled by the popular Samba Blissta’s Carnival Drummers, Lismore Light’n’Up giant lanterns, a variety of cultural dance groups, Illuminated stiltwalkers, brass marching bands, vehicle floats and much more! There will also be an LED & intelligent lightshow in Orchid Avenue.’

Surf, Seafood and Symphony

‘The Surfers Paradise Foreshore will come alive with food stalls showcasing the best that our traders have to offer in their seafood and international menus. Experience the Chefs of Surfers Paradise as they provide cooking demonstrations that teach you the how-to of gourmet cooking. Sample foods from one of the many traders, all providing dishes under $10 a plate. You can pick up a plate from some of the yummiest restaurants on the Gold Coast.’

Australian Street Entertainment Championships

‘Bringing the carnival theme to this year’s festival celebration is the Australian Street Entertainment Championships. Held over four days, clowns, mimes, jugglers and dancers will take to stages across Surfers Paradise in a carnival of light and laughter –  as they vie for the crowd’s attention.’

Seafire Fireworks Challenge

One Way Street Party

‘One Way Street Party, presented by Helm Bar & Bistro, celebrates the city’s emerging cultural scene with a day and night laneway-style art and music festival. At One Way, indie bands, live art projects and street markets ladened with one-off vintage fashions swirl against a canvas of back-street bitumen, all reflecting this year’s theme – Paradiso. One Way is Surfers Paradise’s tribute to the alternative, the new, the undiscovered, and the cutting edge.’
