Sea World

About 10 minutes’ drive north from Surfers Paradise, Sea World offers a fantastic day out with Gold Coast Kids. Located on The Spit, Sea World is a huge aquatic-themed park complete with exciting rides, parades and many interactive animal displays and shows. Sea World really does cater to the entire family, providing a fun-filled adventure for all visitors, both young and old.

Animals to meet at Sea World

Dolphins are, and always will be a major attraction at Sea World, so do not miss ‘Imagine’ where these gorgeous creatures display their skills and interact with their trainers to the background of a fantastic musical piece. Gold Coast Kids will also love discovering Sea World’s Penguin Encounter, which is home to almost one metre tall King Penguins, active Gentoo penguins and gorgeous Fairy Penguins. Or perhaps your Gold Coast Kids will delight in the thrill of Shark Bay, with its awe-inspiring collection of shark species that can be viewed above or below the water.

The highly interactive Ray Reef provides the opportunity to touch live stingrays and listen to a presentation about these majestic creatures. Gold Coast Kids will also be entertained watching the playful polar bears swim and frolic in the arctic summer enclosure of Polar Bear Shores. Many daily performances showcase Sea World’s residents for the enjoyment and education of all visitors.  Shows are subject to change.

Rides and attractions to experience at Sea World

Sea World’s Castaway Bay area has been set up with families in mind. Gold Coast Kids will enjoy getting soggy on the Battle Boats ride featuring over 80 spraying water cannons. In The Sky Fortress, smaller Gold Coast Kids can crawl and clamber their way through five levels of tunnels, rope bridges and more. The Sky Climb will test the balance and bravery of bigger thrill seekers with an exhilarating course 12 metres above the ground.

Beach Break Bay is an area for young Gold Coast Kids, incorporating easy-going rides and a carousel. The iconic Sky High Skyway chair lift takes visitors across the full span of the park, whilst the Sea World Monorail does a circuit and offers a bird’s eye view of the park’s attractions. Other rides at Sea World include the Sea Viper and Jet Rescue roller coasters and Viking’s Revenge Flume Ride (be prepared to get wet!).

Facilities at Sea World

Disabled parking and a wheelchair hire service are provided at Sea World. Wheelchair access is available to a number of rides and attractions. Parent’s nursing rooms are located in several areas of the park. Lockers can be hired to store belongings for the day.

Sea World presents a range of dining options for you and your Gold Coast Kids to choose from, many eating areas offering great views of the park and animals. As well as restaurants, Sea World has many fast food options, from fish and chips to salad rolls and flavoursome wraps.
