Sanctuary Cove will be a hub of entertainment for all ages every Sunday throughout October with ‘Sunday Sounds’ presenting a stellar line up of outstanding live music, events for the kids, fabulous food, and much more. Each Sunday will see a different musical genre presented with a selection of the best acts from the Coast and beyond.

Sunday, October 5 – Country

sounday-sounds-3Pull on the cowboy boots for some toe-tappin’ Country tunes. From 11am, talented local vocalist Angie Simone will get the crowd on their feet with her unstoppable style, while Wes Taylor will take the audience down musical memory lane with his renditions of countrified, thigh-slapping Australian and American country tunes, and Shane Taylor will continue the classic country sounds.

At 3pm, The Smokin’ Crawdads take centre stage with a playlist that ranges from gutbucket blues through to Memphis-soaked swamp rock.

Sunday, October 12 – Blues & Jazz

sounday-sounds-4A selection of Blues & Jazz musicians bring their cool to the Cove. From 11am see master guitarist Howie G, celebrated local jazzman Bobby Blue, and the smooth moves of jazz and blues maestro Frazer Goodman.

At 3pm, 11-piece Byron Bay band The WellSwung Daddies will have the crowd on their feet with their arrangements from modern swing masters such as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Royal Crown Revue and Brian Setzer Orchestra, and past masters like Louis Jordan, Buddy Rich, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles.

Sunday, October 19 – Pop and Dance

sounday-sounds-2It’s time to get groovy with Pop & Dance. From 11am, Mark Watson brings his electronica funk and lounge music sounds to the stage, reminiscent of groovy greats Sade, Cafe Del Mar, and Tyranno Lounge;
master muso Adam Thomas showcases his world-travelled talents with a funky set, and piano man Alex Fietz plays pop favourites that range from Abba to Alanis Morissette, from Barry Manilow to Barry White.

From 3pm the disco beats kick in with Devine, featuring some of Australia’s most talented DJs, musicians, dancers, horn players and vocalists.

Sunday, October 26 – Opera and Classical

sounday-sounds-1‘Sunday Sounds’ in October ends on a high note on Sunday, October 26 with a stunning selection of Opera & Classical. From 11am be enchanted by Rob McMullan, one of Queensland’s finest Spanish guitarists; enjoy guitarist, singer and composer Wes Taylor and his unique set, and the sophisticated piano and violin arrangements of Hansen Classical Duo. Male harmony trio The Lion’s Den will take the stage at 3pm with their dynamic and diverse show featuring timeless classics.

‘Sunday Sounds’ will be held throughout Sanctuary Cove’s Marine Village. Sanctuary Cove is a resort-style masterplanned community, featuring two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 300-berth marina, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, and a Country Club including full fitness centre, tennis courts and 25m swimming pool.
